Burning Man 1996: The West Stage

It was decided in our pre-event meetings to construct a stage specifically to give participants a venue for their shows. Called the West Stage, this is a big triangle with a platform raised about 1.5-meter (5-feet) off the playa.

Here's a daytime performance on the completed stage. It was well-built and a real magnet for small groups wanting a place from which to entertain. I made it a point of stopping by on each Ranger partrol to see who was performing.

Here's a nighttime performance, complete with horn section and costumes. A great pleasure to be around.

What's the first thing I want after getting some sleep in the wee hours of the morning? A shampoo.
