1999 Austria / London / Munich: Arthurhaus Ritt (3)

As we hike the alpine paths, enjoying the warm summer breezes and the fluffy clouds, we come across a sign which says "fresh milk, bacon, cheese, farmers bread, and liquor daily". It's our policy to eat what the locals eat, and so we set off in hot pursuit of the victuals.

[Macro error: Mac OS Error: -1409.]

Then we come across the cows. Big cows. Really big cows. They crowd around us, mooing, eyeballing us. Isaac just loves seeing these lumbering horned behemoths.

Some of these cows are friendly, very friendly.

The trail turns and the farmers home comes into view.

I probably should have taken lots of photos of the incredible food served to us, but I was too busy enjoying. We had really, really fresh milk. Cheese too. Amazing bread. Soup seasoned to perfection. Forget about packing a lunch to take with you on a hike, it just gets warm and mushy. This way of eating is much better.

Next, our hike ends with more cows and a waterfall.
