I need a good night's sleep to recover from the glove compartment spelunking of last evening. The first thing I do this fine morning is to remove the information panel. I did it a week ago while repairing the backlight on the displays, but it seemed harder to do, even though I knew it could be done. Sigh. It seemed to stick on the top and the bottom, despite my expert wielding of a library card as a pry tool :-)

Finally I'm able to wiggle it out (without breaking anything).

I pull it to the right side and lift up the storage box, attach to which is the cigarette lighter and the push-outs.

Here you see me pushing up from below and popping out one of the panels.

I drill a hole into the panel as described in the instructions, except that I pre-drill with a tiny bit and then follow with the correct size. It's perfect.

Then I string the electrical connection for the light-emitting diode (LED) from the alarm box (seen at right, with the two white strips of paper on the velcro) along the console to the hole. It neatly tucks up under the trim panel. No need to string it up and over and down and across all the things inside, some of which may move.

I pop the LED into the panel, put the LED leads into the electrical connection, and re-assemble this section. I'm satisfied with how it looks.

Now it's time to put the siren under the hood.
