1998 Italia: Refugio d' Faloria
|
Atop of the Faloria ski resort is a wonderful eating spot, the Refugio d' Faloria. Unlike the pathetic culinary offerings of most American ski resorts, the Italian counterparts boast cloth tablecloths, metal silverware, glass stemware, and a professional cooking staff, all of which result in a much superior eating experience. At left you can see some of the food stations along the way to the cash register. (Other places had table service, the Refugio d' Faloria uses the self-serve model.)

In the following images please note the cleanliness and professional appearance of this hilltop restaurant. Everything, from the pomodoro (tomato) e mozarella (the top two images) to the salad bar and the cooked meals, were well-tended and nicely presented. Heck, I could have spent the day here instead of on the slopes :-)
