Burning Man 1997: Me

This year we were at Hualapai, a short jaunt from Fly Hot Springs. Even so, almost nobody chose to do the short overland stroll. Besides the incredibly soothing warm water and squishy mud, the amazing feeling of having the mud cool and solidify when you leave the pools is more than worth the effort of walking.

I covered myself from head to toe, several times, then got out and dried whilst strolling around the surrounding scrub grasses.

This photo captures some of the wide open (physical) feeling of the playa and the (emotional) freedom of the event.

Back in Black Rock City, here I am wearing my trusty Teva sandals and two very lightweight sashes tied together to make airy shorts, perfect for the hot desert.

Ahhhh, the breeze, the breeze!!

Let's finish our tour with a vignette of the real world clashing with our playa minds.
