Album 1999.10.03

I turn the camera on ourselves, an obligatory angle for most of my online commentaries. In my single days I used to be able to get most of myself in the frame, but now that I'm part of a small family all I get is a hint of each of us. Fitting; pleasing.

We're heading out to the Castro Street Fair. On my back you can see the Teletubbies Tinky Winky backpack that we bought at Harrods. We're all dressed up with somewhere to go.

One of Isaac's favorite things, along with rotating ceiling fans and busses, are dogs. At left you see Isaac interacting with one of the neighborhood pups. This is a rather sedate meeting, nothing like the pugs jumping all over the place.

At right you see Rose, back up the hill, picking up the sock that Isaac just kicked off (a new vital skill he's learned). Luckily his leather moccasins hold the line (for the moment).

Now that we've held our confabs with the people and animals of our street, we walk the couple of blocks to the fair.

Like most events held in the Castro, the fair is an eyeful. Never a dull moment here. Great music, food to delight (have you tried the Key Lime Calimari Fritti with the dill dipping sauce?), costumes, and many local-interest booths.

This year, like most of the past few years, the weather for the fair is really nice (it being in the midst of San Francisco's Indian Summer). It just makes the day more fun. We've done the fair in the cold, and it's nothing to write home about.

After the fair we went to a friend's birthday party. Join us!
